I was born and raised in Merrill, Wisconsin. From an early age I loved art. Credit my father for piquing my interest with paint-by-number kits and my mother for introducing me to crafts, sewing and crochet. I am mainly a self-taught artist and crafts person, although my high school art teacher, Mrs. Hildegard Engel, cemented my love of art and gave me my basic art education.
In 2019 I moved to Eau Claire. I have been enjoying my character filled little house and with the help of my son, I am transforming an unfinished room in the basement into an art studio. I hope to spend most of my time down there soon. I love the art vibe in this community and can always find inspiration here.
Acrylics, pen & ink, linocut, watercolor pencil, and glass fusing are currently some of my favorite media. I have done soft sculpture, collage, mosaics, and murals in the past. I also make beaded jewelry with fused glass and with recycled bottle caps. I am always open to trying new ways of making art and I enjoy the VAA meetings that introduce me to new things.
