Watercolor is my current passion and I continue taking classes and learning techniques.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University, I majored in metallurgy and jewelry making. Continuing my adult education in fiber, photography and pottery, as well as teaching jewelry at nights, allowed me to stay in the art field while pursuing a career.
Since retiring in 2012, I picked up a paint brush and immediately fell in love with watercolor.
Having lived in various locations within the United States, I have had opportunities to observe nature and its changes in different landscapes and environments. Flora and fauna fascinate my senses. The play of light and shadow and the myriad of colors seen in nature at different times of the day and year are influential in my color mixes.
Settling in Wisconsin and planting acres of flowers as well as having a large collection of bird feeders and nest boxes allows me to focus on the subjects that entice my creativity. Nature is a beautiful display of visual, sensory and olfactory experiences. Life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest.
