Val West Naber is a Wisconsin artist who uses porcelain as her canvas. She was introduced to porcelain art by a friend, was hooked and began classes in traditional American style painting. After mastering the process, she branched out learning a more modern approach with contemporary techniques. She has studied with teachers from Switzerland, Portugal, Brazil, Japan and throughout the USA.
Using nature and life experience as inspiration, painting creates an escape from a stressful world and helps her stay grounded. She currently teaches porcelain art in the Midwest and in her studio north of Menomonie. Teaching gives her the opportunity to help other find peace while growing through creativity.
She has won numerous awards and is active in the Valley Art Association, MN Porcelain Art Guild, World Organization of China Painters and International Porcelain Artists and Teachers.
